A bad lunch at Waka City Bayview

I attended training at town area and decided to go to Waka in City Bayview hotel for lunch. Previosuly, Waka is at Rasa Sayang hotel, however, the hotel was closed for upgrade, as such, Waka moved to City Bayview hotel. Ever since the moved, hubb told me the food quality is no longer there, but i would like to try it myself before i can conclude anything.

It has been a while i wanted to go to Waka for lunch, but somehow, never make it..until last month when i attended training at town area, we went there for lunch. First time step into the restaurant, was kinda vacant, never mind...so we sat down and order our food. Food quite nice, and when we made payment, the lady told us about their promotional set lunch instead of normal set lunch. What a dang..the waitress NEVER tell us about the promotion set lunch which as ramen as one of the choice. So we decided to give Waka another visit when we had our training this week.

Second visit, reached the restaurant around 12 noon, when the waitress served us, again, she didn't mention about the promotional set lunch until we asked. So we ordered 2 sets of tepanyaki beef and one spicy ramen. Waiting waiting waiting...has been more than 30 mins, then only i see the so called chef walk out from the kitchen, start to do our tepanyaki. I am not sure that guy is the chef or part time chef.....

So wait wait and wait..finally we see waitress walk out from kitchen with one claypot. And guess what, she served the other table which come later than us. One of my friend was pissed off and call the waitress, and the waitress pretend not hearing her and my friend need to raise her voice then only the waitress come to our table. My friend asked why the lady being served before us, and the waitress told us that they call in advance to do their booking. And the waitress didn't even apologies with my friend for not responding to her call. Well, yes..the other lady call to book in advance, but we waited for so long, so even though the 2 ramens being brought out from kitchen with less than 1 minute apart, to me, i feel they should serve us before the other lady. When we waited for our food, we hardly see ANY waitress in the restaurant, don't know where they hide themselves, and i even need to request for green tea refill. *thought this should be done automatically right?*

ok, here come our beef. First bite, COLD, second bite..it's as hard as WOOD. Eat the rice, it's as hard as uncooked rice. So continue to eat until i can't stand anymore, my gum was so pain, the beef is so hard. And for the first time, i decided not to finish my food. I am not very fussy when come to food, those who know me, can tell from my size, right? LOL! But this time, i really dissapointed with the beef, so i only forced myself to eat half of it.

We are late for the training, so quickly proceed to pay money, but again, waited and yelled, no one actually want to come to us. Fire on....at first i just want to let go...but while waiting, i think think and think..feel not willing to pay for the beef in full price. After about 3 minutes, i can see a human walking towards us and NO APOLOGIES for bad service. And the lady that attended to us is the lady that we want to complain!That lady is the one who ignore my friend. Duh!! And again, that lady seems has deaf ears and i was so mad and started to complain about the food.

F: Why when i called you just now and you ignore me, i called u so many times.
W: *the waitress again pretend not hearing my friend*
M: The beef is very hard, as hard as wood. This is the worst beef that i ever had, i call it WOOD instead of beef. And i don't think i should be charged the full price.
W: Oh...the beef still there?
M: i didn't finish mine, but she * i pointing to my other friend* finished hers.
W: Why didn't you guys inform us after we served the food?
M: huh? inform you and wait for another 30 mins ??
W: sorry, we have some problem with our kitchen crew.
M: well, don't tell me your problem. You should at least maintain the Waka Standard.
F: I see this Ms Phang from D*** ordering quite a number pax of food from Waka, do you want us to call this Ms Phang and tell her our bad experience?
W: What about if i give u 20% discount
M: Nope, i think i deserve more than 20%
W: So what do you think?
M: 50%
W: *paused for a while, must be cursing for my barbarian-ness* What about i don't charge your portion and i only charge your friends meal.
F: I only complain with the service , not on the food.
M: well, it's up to you. Net net, i feel disappointed with this so call Waka standard. Firstly, the beef is cold, secondly the beef is hard.

So at the end, we being charged 1 free tepanyaki beef, 80% for the other set beef tepanyaki and full price for the spicy ramen. I don't mean to ask for free meal but with that type of service attitude, i don't think it's worth of money. I don't think i will never go back to Waka for food again! Had super bad experience and the wooden beef make my gum so painful.

Today is my 3rd day at my new world and apprently today is our department's team building day. We are going for lunch. And all of us thought that we need to go back to office continue to work after the lunch, however, our boss said NOPE NOPE NOPE!

According to him, in US, as long as it's team building day, the team observe half day off. So what we gonna do after lunch??

And the final decision is Bowling. **what a relief for me** I so scared when someone suggested hiking. I am not gonna hike under hot sun, later i will come back like little red indian.

In another 25 mins time, we will call the day off and head to Golden Triangle at Juru Auto City for lunch. After that, we will be going to Megamall for bowling. Has been LONG time i didn't bowl, am sure i will wash the bowling drain clean and clear. And also hopefully my hand wont be cacat-ed by tomorrow.

This round...my prgnancy crave list

Yesterday, i had lunch with Aurelia's dad, KT. He doesn't know i am pregnant, i manage to hide my tummy from his sharp eyes during the past 2 lunch date with him. Until yesterday he said how come recently i keep posting all sorts of challenging question to him, ask him where can i get this and that...and i told him i crave for this and that, and he said high chance that i pregnant.

So....... at the end, i told him the truth!! And guess what, he make me crave for pan mee!! So at the end we, yes, only me and him, ok, went out for pan mee lunch date. We don't mean to go out dating secretly, ok, hey...i am telling u guys that we are dating...so we don't do anything under table, we date under hot sun...but yesterday the weather so cooling, so we dated under he roof!

During lunch, he asked me whether i ever think or crave for satay! Hmm.....i told him,as of this moment, not yet. HAHAHAHAHAAHA...and here is the list of craving that i have...

jeruk mango
markisa juice
acar
laksa + fried rice
ham chim peng
pan mee
and..latest is desperate for AMPULA!!!!

Come to think of it, when i preggie with Kelvin, i don't crave for food, i do prefer chicken over fish but not crave for chicken. But this time...all funny crave will come into my mind out of sudden!

So fun!! coz i get to give all my friends all sort of challenging question, "when can i get this ?"

yeah yeah!! ampula, yum yum

craved for ampula for few days, and on Wednesday nite, during dinner time, i told Kelvin that mummy want to eat ampula, and to my surprise, my mom told me that she and dad found it from the fruit stall outside Mandarin cafe. FUYOH!!!

Dad took it out from the fridge while mom helped me to remove the skin of the ampula...see, this is one of the privileage preggie will get from parents! YEAH!!! And immediate after my dinner, i wallop all the ampula, it's about 6 ampula. yum yum, happy happy and happy!

However, after finishing all the ampulas...i told hubb, i seems like eaten too much food and my tummy very FULL!!!! And feeling cannot move and want to sleep!! Another privilage for preggie, eat, sleep, eat and sleep!

So for that night, i went to sleep with happy face, coz i ate ampula already!! However, i still crave for ampula!! If u know where i can get it, do let me know ya!!!

Acar Acar...yum yum

Saw this acar pic from Sasha's blog and make me suddenly CRAVE for it. Keep thinking of acar the whole day.

When i get back to my parents house for dinner, saw a bowl of acar on the dining table!! WOW, ACAR!!! YUM YUM!!! Luckily aunt bought acar for dinner, help to kill my crave for Acar...else i will be thinking of acar throughout the night!!

So, Sasha, what's next?!! HAHAHAHA!

Yeah!! My first cake!

Yesterday, I made biscuit cake, too bad, my baby boy don't get to taste it as it contains egg.
**No worry, mummy will make one for u when u officially start to eat egg. **

And too bad, i am too excited with my first creation, and i forget to take any pic at all. YES YES, i never make any cake before, this is my first time doing it! During my stay in US, i am glad to have good housemate and friend who can cook and bake well, so i don't have to pick up baking skill, and now, i am slowly learning so that i can make some for my son and hubby in future! Will see how huh! Could be ended up hubb suggest me to buy from bakery! hahaha!

It's fairly simple, otherwise i won't think of trying it. Here is what you need :-
1 block of butter (~250gm)
30 pcs crackers
6 eggs
a bit of sugar (based on own judgement)

1.Mix the butter and egg together
2.smash the crackers
3.Mix 1 & 2 together
4. Pour 3 on a plate
5. Steam for 15 ~ 20 mins

Then..ta daa...finish! Easy right?
But, i tell you, the process of cleaning is a bit messy as you need to clean the butter from your blender or whatever you use to mix the egg and butter.


Dad said it's a bit oily, i think maybe the biscuit that i bought contain a bit more of oil compare to other cracker, and i uses 1 book of butter...so it taste a bit oily when it's serve hot.
I put some in fridge and brought to office to share with friends, so far all good comments :)
Maybe it's kept in fridge overnight, so all the oily get harden a bit compare to when it's still hot? who knows..!

And i am too excited til i forget to take single pic of my first creation.

Coffee and me

I stopped taking coffee 6 mths before preggie and didn't take any until today....i broke the rule!!
Hubb and i went to Starbucks at QBM as he needs to get some vouchers. As he tried to purchase Stabucks voucher from the Midvally outlet when we were in KL sometime in Mar07, the store manager told him that Strabucks don't see gift voucher???!!!! I remembered i saw the Starbucks voucher from one of the credit cards redemption catalog.

So, today as we pass by Starbucks at QBM, i told hubby to try our luck to check with the store manager, to our surprise, they do sell voucher!! Duh ! As we were waiting for the store manager to get us the voucher, again, we try our luck to ask whether any free beverage for us...ta daa!!!The store manager gave each of us a cup of medium size coffee. I am not sure what coffee they gave us, but i can tell, there is strong vanilla flavor, strong milk taste and also, i can feel there is some red beans, yummie though!

Besides, i spotted the sandwich displayed at the counter, looks yummie though. Hmm....will go there another time to try on the sandwich!

Baby food recipes

I always have hard time what to cook for my baby over the weekend. So far, we only introduce certain type of veggies to him ever since he started having solid. Sometime i wonder will he feel bored with all those veggie? Hubb always told me that baby won't be so choosy on food as they never expose to much choices. But then, i feel bored cooking the same thing over and over.

Finally, i found a cool site talking about baby food which i like it so much. I will screen through and hopefully i will have something new for my little boy on this weekend. However, before my little one get to try on the new recipe, hubb needs to approve and agree then only i am allow to cook it.

I can't wait to share this site with hubb and go shop for other type of veggies for our little boy!

Good service? Bad service?

Ok, let you be the judge!

I ordered a pizza as friends coming over to my cozy apt for lunch cum apt viewing. Around 11am, i called up and ordered a set meal for 2~3 person and the flavor of the pizza is royale masala. I quite like it as it's a bit spicy taste.

Around 11:45am, i received the delivery. Paid RM25 happily and waited for friend. Friend arrived around 12:10pm, so we chatted for a while, tour around the small apt...yeah, tour around, and sounds like my apt very big huh...hahaha..not to tell you the exact size, if wanna know, come to pay me a visit huh!

Around 12:30pm, i received a phone call from pizza hut, saying....the coleslaw that they send me earlier is expired and asked me not to eat it. Gosh, luckily we didn't start eating upon the guest of honor's arrival, luckily we chit chat for a while. Well, what u expect, for girls, usually we chit chat more than eating when meeting up each others.hahahah! So, they will replace the coleslaw with cream of mushroom soup and will arrive at my place in 5 mins time. Wow, less than 5 mins, door bell rang and the same delivery guy stand outside the door and pass me the soup. The guy kept apologies with me, he is so polite. It's not his fault anyway, he is just a delivery man, delivering the food per the order, but yet he is so polite.

So, the food is expired and they didn't check it before delivery it to customer - bad customer service, but they do make an afford to call up to stop us from eating it - good customer service, and when the delivery man replace the order, he kept apologies as if it's his fault - good customer service. So, what do you think as overall, good or bad?

Hmm..as for me, i doubt i will call for pizza delivery in near future, at least for couple of months til i forget about this incident..hahaha

How to tell if i cook

How to tell that i'm the one who's doing the cooking ...

1. I may burn the pot...ask Terence how well i burn the pot that he just bought for less than a week
2. will spill the water all over the stove, and may forget to wipe away the stain

Should be more than enough points to tell whether i am the cook of the day or not, right!

I don't really enjoy cooking, but i admire those who can cook, bake.....BUT, i enjoy EATING! While we were courting, hubb did the cooking MOST OF THE TIME and me in charge of eating :) But now, i cook!! I cook for my lovely son!!! Thanks baby, so far you LOVE the porridge that mummy cook for you.....hahahaha, coz he never expose to any other food besides those cook by me ...and he's purely on veggie porridge!!So no need any special skill to cook food for my baby.

Steamboat Dinner -hiaks

Went for the steamboat shop opposite Sg Dua McD for dinner buffet with colleagues, to our surprise, the expected value of the food not there anymore. First, price increase, secondly, the food quality and quantity drop. While we are eating, suddenly the shop people pop by and asked

wah lau eh, so kiasu, afraid we wont pay for the food. So, colleague paid first while the rest of us don't bother much, continue eating...hahaha

They do not refill food quickly, there is delay in food replenishment. Those "expensive" item such as prawn does not get refilled. Even those fish ball also didn't get refill. Sooo ended up, we eat noodle, veggie...well, well, usually i wont eat noodle when i go for steamboat buffet, but then, i have nothing else to eat, i've eaten most of the food there...oh yeah, they do serve fried mee and bee hoon....and the bee hoon all stick together, sigh

And, to your surprise, this shop is forever pack with customers everytime i pass by that road. Sigh, i guess, could be there is no other choice of cheap steamboat buffet shop around Bayan Lepas area.

Sigh, if i know about the "wonderful" service and food, i wont suggest to have dinner there. To my fellow frens who had dinner together, SORRY for choosing this lousy place, we should have drive all the way to Nagore place for Kim steamboat buffet. No no no BIG THANKS,i wont go back to that shop again.
